    Shanea Calhoun

    Empowering individuals to work through their unique challenges.

    Meet the Founder:​

    Shanea Calhoun, a native of Connecticut who has been living in the Charlotte-Metro area since 2011. Ms. Calhoun is a Registered Behavioral Therapist (RBT) and holds a master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology and has been serving individuals in need since 2008 in a variety of ways by providing in-home and school-based therapy, intensive behavioral rehabilitative services (BHRS), case management, and more. Shanea has provided therapy to children with special needs, trauma informed care, and evidence-based strategies to assist clients in feeling empowered to work through the unique challenges they faced.

     

    Shanea is a former track star and continues to hold records in the 100m 200m and 4x100m events. Just as she remained dedicated and focused on crossing the finish line in her sport, she transfers that same commitment and perseverance to Therapy and Motion! She is excited about bringing specialized interventions, education, resources, and programming to underserved communities. Shanea Calhoun’s aim is to encourage individuals to move forward despite the barriers and challenges of life!

    Meet the COO:​

    Shantea Calhoun, identical twin sister of Shanea Calhoun is a native of Connecticut, living in the Charlotte-Metro area since 2013. Shantea is committed to helping individuals with diverse needs learn to maintain overall mental wellness. Shantea’s work focuses on targeting ineffective behaviors, improving physical and cognitive abilities, and increasing independent living skills. Ms. Calhoun believes in taking a collaborative approach to helping individuals reach their goals.

     

    Shantea is a Behavioral Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology and is passionate about implementing enriched therapeutic activities and interventions that aid individuals optimal growth and development.

     

    Shantea has provided intensive behavioral rehabilitative services (BHRS), case management, and clinical supervision to direct care providers who serve individuals with diverse needs. Shantea has provided Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adults with special needs, disability management, and linked families to resources relative to supportive employment opportunities.

     

    Shantea is also a former track star and holds the Big East Champion titles in the 60m, 200m and 4x100m events. Similar to her track career, she remains dedicated and committed to Therapy and Motion! Shantea Calhoun’s aim is to empower individuals, increase awareness and help each individual move forward in all areas of mental wellness (physical, emotional, cognitive, and social). Shantea is determined to help individuals manage mild to moderate depression, anxiety, self-care, increase mindfulness/awareness, and obtain /daily independent living/leadership skills.
